Description: We are currently seeking event day volunteer support for our upcoming BMO Walk so Kids Can Talk, in 17 communities across Canada. BMO Walk so Kids Can Talk is a 5 km, family friendly event that takes place on Sunday, May 7,2023 ! Support youth mental health and well-being in your community by volunteering on event day. At Kids Help Phone, we are grateful to our committed and courageous volunteers, who are essential to achieving our mission - ensuring every young person has the support they need, in the way they need it most. Volunteer Roles: This is a one day volunteer event on Sunday, May 7, 2023. Volunteers will be needed for approximately 8 hours on the day of the event. A 1 hour mandatory training session before the event will also be required. Please see below the available volunteer roles. Logistics Volunteer: Working alongside Kids Help Phone staff, this role will ensure all site logistics are in place and ready to go. This will include helping with set up and tear down. People helping in this role will still be able to do the Walk if they choose to do so. Event Experience Volunteer: Monitor checkpoints along the route and the start and finish line; cheering, entertaining, motivating and providing assistance for Walkers. People helping in this role will not be able to do the Walk. Food & Beverage Volunteer: Organize onsite food and beverage distribution and ensure all health and safety protocols are being followed. These volunteers will be required to wear gloves and masks when handling food. People helping in this role will not be able to do the Walk. Guest Services Volunteer: This role is a key function at a Walk site. You will collect fundraising monies, review pledge form information, and answer general questions. You will be required to attend a 30-minute training session 3-4 days before the Walk. People helping in this role will still be able to do the Walk if they choose to do so.

Make-A-Wish Canada Volunteer at the 5K Foam Fest [Barrie]

Volunteer Assistance for Victoria Village Manor's Mock Evacuation

Description: During the afternoon of Wednesday October 4th, 2023, Victoria Village Manor Long Term Care will be running a large-scale mock evacuation. The staff will be evacuating volunteer "Residents" from each of the four resident home areas in order for the staff to practice a large-scale evacuation. *We are looking for volunteers to step in as residents during the drill. These volunteers will be escorted by staff down the stairs either walking, in an evacuation chair, or via the evacuation sled. Once down the stairs volunteers will then be taken to the mock triage room in the Bob Morton Centre. *We are also looking for volunteers to observe the drill and provide feedback. There will be training before the drill, and debriefing will take place afterwards It is estimated that the whole process will take 4 hours during the afternoon.
Kidney Walk Event Day Volunteer - Simcoe

We are looking for event day volunteers for our 2023 Kidney Walk that will be responsible for registering walk participants, set-up/take-down of the event, and route marshaling at St. Vincent Park (65 Blake St, Barrie, ON L4M 1J9) on Sunday September 10th, 2023.
