Make-A-Wish Canada Volunteer at the 5K Foam Fest [Barrie]

Description: Date: Saturday, July 22nd Location: BARRIE | Horseshoe Resort, 1101 Horseshoe Valley Rd W, Barrie, ON L4M 4Y8 The 5K Foam Fest has been supporting Make-A-Wish Canada for the past 5 years, and Make-A-Wish Canada is their official charity partner. Make-A-Wish Canada is recruiting for volunteers to support the Gear Check Tent, volunteers also have the opportunity to run the race! Volunteers under the age of 18 must complete a waiver provided by MAWC. Volunteers under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers can choose half-day shifts (7:00 AM -12:30PM or 12:15PM-4:00PM) or full-day shifts. Volunteer Assistance for Victoria Village Manor's Mock Evacuation

Description: During the afternoon of Wednesday October 4th, 2023, Victoria Village Manor Long Term Care will be running a large-scale mock evacuation. The staff will be evacuating volunteer "Residents" from each of the four resident home areas in order for the staff to practice a large-scale evacuation.   *We are looking for volunteers to step in as residents during the drill. These volunteers will be escorted by staff down the stairs either walking, in an evacuation chair, or via the evacuation sled. Once down the stairs volunteers will then be taken to the mock triage room in the Bob Morton Centre.   *We are also looking for volunteers to observe the drill and provide feedback. There will be training before the drill, and debriefing will take place afterwards It is estimated that the whole process will take 4 hours during the afternoon.

Kidney Walk Event Day Volunteer - Simcoe

We are looking for event day volunteers for our 2023 Kidney Walk that will be responsible for registering walk participants, set-up/take-down of the event, and route marshaling at St. Vincent Park (65 Blake St, Barrie, ON L4M 1J9) on Sunday September 10th, 2023. CIBC Run for the Cure Event Day Volunteers

Description: CIBC Run for the Cure Event Day Volunteers The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is a 5k or 1k walk or run. It is the largest single-day, volunteer-led event in Canada in support of the breast cancer cause. This year’s event will be taking place on Sunday, October 1, 2023.   POSITION OVERVIEW CIBC Run For the Cure Event Day Volunteers are an important part of the success of this event. Whether you will be helping with site set up/tear down, greeting and directing participants, photography or tallying donations, there is a volunteer position for you! As an Event Day Volunteer, you will be responsible for: Attend a location during your agreed shift Variety of duties/tasks that could include: Greet and engage participants during registration and activities General accounting Set up/tear down of tents, tables/chairs, banners Route Marshall – directing participants for the 1km and 5km routes YOUR COMMITMENT Availability on event day – Sunday, October 1 (once registered, someone from the event committee will be in contact to confirm shift and role) Shift commitment between 2-6 hours We welcome people of all backgrounds, abilities and interests. Held annually during Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month in September, this family-friendly event raises vital funds to provide support, enable vital research and fuel advocacy efforts across Canada. Volunteer Event Monitor at Barrie Persian Association's Mosaic Nights Festival

Description: Barrie Persian Association is in need of volunteers to aid with the Mosaic Nights Festival. The Mosaic Nights Festival is a cultural appreciation event that consists of demonstrations of different cultural dances and music, food, lifestyle, etc. The event will take place on August 26th from 5 PM - 11 PM at Riverdale Park in Alliston. We need volunteers from about 3:30 PM till Midnight. Volunteers can work for however long they choose to, we need people for set-up, event, and clean-up. Volunteers will be supplied with cold water, snacks, name tags, and any other necessary supplies. Volunteer hours can be signed off for high school students. Students will get volunteer hours for the work they do the day of the event, any work they do in preparation for the event, and if they refer other volunteers to help. This is a great opportunity for resume-building as it is a cultural event hosted by a non-profit organization. Volunteers will also get notified about future opportunities.
