At Gilda’s Club Simcoe Muskoka, our Front Desk Greeters are much more than reception volunteers. They are often the very first smile someone sees when they walk through our doors, and that moment matters more than most people realize. For many individuals and families affected by cancer, coming through those doors for the first time can feel overwhelming. Sometimes the hardest step is simply showing up. A warm welcome, a friendly face, and a calm, welcoming environment can completely change how someone feels in that moment. That is why this role is so important. As Gilda’s Club continues expanding programming into evenings and weekends to better support the community, we are looking for additional volunteers to help us create a welcoming and supportive environment for members at all hours of programming. As a Greeter, you help create the atmosphere people remember. You help people feel seen, comfortable, and less alone. Whether someone is attending a support group, wellness program, social event, or simply looking for information, you help set the tone for their entire experience.Volunteer responsibilities may include:• Welcoming members and visitors as they arrive• Answering phones and helping direct inquiries• Assisting with sign ins and basic information• Helping maintain a warm and inviting clubhouse environment• Supporting staff with light administrative tasks when neededThis role is perfect for someone who:• Enjoys meeting and talking with people• Has a warm and friendly personality• Wants to make a meaningful difference in the community• Understands the importance of kindness and compassion• Likes being part of a welcoming and supportive environmentNo medical experience is needed.
