WHAT IS SHOPPING ANGELS? Shopping Angels is a program designed to provide services to those populations deemed especially at-risk for the novel COVID-19 virus that is spreading throughout Canada. In addition to a Canadian branch, there are branches of Shopping Angels in all fifty states and Australia with close to 5,000 volunteers. To help ease the uncertainty, anxiety, and fear surrounding this pandemic, we are looking for volunteers to personally deliver groceries or other shopping necessities to those who may prefer to stay within the safety of their own home at no additional cost. Shopping Angels is a free delivery service for groceries and other necessities. At this time, we cannot guarantee to provide these items free of charge. Some local branches may receive local donations of items or may establish partnerships with local food banks/pantries and other organizations that provide these items free of charge. HOW DOES IT WORK? Both the volunteer and client fill out the google form to give us information on how close they are to each other, and we give that information to state coordinators. The volunteer then receives an email regarding protocol and the client’s address. From here, the volunteer will reach out to the client to coordinate a shopping trip and delivery! The 705 is a recovery hub for self help and recovery groups to connect, hold events, meetings and support groups with the intention of helping those who are experiencing addiction and alcoholism. The 705 operates on generosity and volunteers. Visitors can also come to the hub to receive information about recovery services and resources.

Bravado!, Barrie’s show choir, was formed in 1996 with a vision towards creating a multi-artistic experience. Under the musical direction of Marianne Derow, the choir continually challenges traditional notions of choral music by layering vocal excellence with the visual appeal of staging and choreography. In 2018, Bravado established Bravado Kids, a choir for children aged 8-14 that fosters a love of singing, dancing and performing by being featured in Bravado concerts. Bravado! performs two shows per year, at Christmas and in the spring. Bravado! also sings at charitable fundraisers and private functions, and have been guest performers at musical concerts throughout the Simcoe Region. Bravado! reaches out to the community by holding their popular Voices at Large public rehearsals, hiring regional musicians, and encouraging youth to participate in performances both behind the scenes and onstage Our mission statement is "Building Community through Music"; Bravado takes pride in the our family of community volunteers who help us with many vital tasks behind the scenes.

As a volunteer at Victoria Village, you can gain experience working with seniors, arranging programs based on your interests and expertise, and knowledge of long-term care and senior services. Anyone aged 14 and over can apply to be a volunteer, and Victoria Village offers flexible hours and time commitment levels to all volunteers. Volunteer opportunities are available across departments and volunteers can assist with a variety of activities and programs. The Ontario SPCA and Humane Society is a registered charity, established in 1873. The Navy League of Canada has a presence in over 230 communities and supports approximately 10,000 young Canadians in the largest maritime-themed youth programs in the country: Royal Canadian Sea Cadets and Navy League Cadets. Our programming is made possible by the support of over 6,000 dedicated volunteers who contribute at all levels of our organization, from local activities all the way to national initiatives. Are you looking for a meaningful opportunity to volunteer for a Charitable organization? Our Foundation raises funds for the Programs and Capital needs of Camphill Communities Ontario. We are a small Foundation that has one staff currently. Our Board meets 8 times a year, usually on Zoom as we were doing Teleconference before the pandemic. We have an Annual AGM in June, however last year that was also held over Zoom due to the Provincial Pandemic and was held in September. We hope to have candidates join us for the AGM in June.

Barrie Persian Association is going to promote cross-cultural dialogue and understanding between the Persian Community (meaning all Farsi language speakers) and other communities living in Canada/ Barrie. Raising cultural awareness among Persian-Canadians, especially kids and youth, and contributing to the diverse cultural mosaic of Canadian society are among BPA's goals. Barrie Persian Association programs are great towards showcasing local and non-local professionals, emerging artists of diverse backgrounds, celebrating using the arts of music, theatre, cinema, literature, and visual arts, beginning and participating in panel discussions and lectures, mostly free-of-charge.

The EDAS is a non-profit organization with many benefits to its community. The objectives of the EDAS are to encourage awareness of agriculture and promote improvement in the quality of life in our community, both rural and urban. The EDAS strives to provide a multi-purpose facility to serve the agricultural, trade, recreational, cultural and entertainment needs of Essa Township, the city of Barrie, Simcoe County, and Central Ontario (North GTA).
