Make-A-Wish Canada is an independently operating affiliate of Make-A-Wish international. We create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses, and we are on a quest to bring every eligible child's wish to life, because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness. Make-A-Wish is the world’s leading children’s wish-granting organization, operating in 50 countries. Here in Canada, we serve children in every community from coast to coast to coast. Since 1983, Make-A-Wish Canada has granted over 37,000 wishes across the country, over 1,000 last year alone.

Kids Help Phone is Canada’s only 24/7 e-mental health service offering free, confidential support to young people in English and French. The challenges facing young people in Canada have grown more complex, and youth need access to the supports that are most relevant to them. To achieve our vision, it’s critical that we meet these challenges — and quickly. Our History Kids Help Phone has a pioneering history of creating innovative supports for critical issues young people face. We began in 1989 as a unique telephone counselling service, launched to provide free, accessible support to any young person reaching out from coast to coast to coast. Our focus was supporting young people experiencing abuse, but almost immediately, young people let us know they needed more from the service than one focus and one way to reach us. For over 30 years, we’ve evolved our response and offerings. We concentrate on staying relevant to youth, recognizing the complexity of issues they face, and we help to ensure our professional counsellors and volunteer crisis responders are ready to address young people’s continuum of emotional and mental health needs, from crisis situations to the everyday concerns of growing up.

Autism Ontario (legally incorporated as Autism Society Ontario) is a charitable organization with a history of over 49 years representing the thousands of people on the autism spectrum and their families across Ontario. Made up of knowledgeable parents, professionals, and autistic self-advocates who can speak to the key issues that impact autistic individuals and their families, Autism Ontario is the province’s leading source of information and referral on autism, and one of the largest collective voices representing the autism community. There are seven regions across the province of Ontario. The work we do helps all autistic individuals and families in their communities have access to meaningful supports, information, and connections so they are equitably and seamlessly supported across their life course. We are a foster care placing agency located in Wasaga Beach, we have foster homes located in various areas in Ontario such as Wasaga Beach, Barrie, Pickering, Brampton, and more. We work with specialized youth with backgrounds including of ASD, FASD, behavioural challenges and more, and we provide therapeutic services such as therapists and support workers to assist with the care of the youth in the foster homes. Volunteer Driving Duties: · As a volunteer driver, your primary responsibilities will include transporting individuals safely and reliably to their designated locations using your personal vehicle. We expect all volunteer drivers to: · Fulfill their assigned driving duties as scheduled- ex taking them to appointments, visits, etc… · Maintain consistent communication with our Volunteer Driver Coordinator regarding any changes or any out of the ordinary situations that may occur on shift. · Ensure the safety and well-being of passengers during transport. · Follow all traffic laws and maintain a safe and well-kept vehicle. We offer a reimbursement of $0.55 per km for all drives completed for Caithkin.
