Volunteers step up as Barrie Christmas charity struggles to meet demand

For the first time in its 51-year history, the volunteer-run charitable organization — which provides Christmas food hampers and gifts to families and individuals in Barrie, Innisfil, Angus, Springwater and Oro-Medonte — was forced to close applications for assistance, president Sandra Yaquo told BarrieToday on Friday afternoon.
