About Us
We are here to help adults in our community bridge gaps in their reading, writing, math and computer skills, use these skills in everyday living, reach their own goals and improve their self-esteem.
We achieve this through matching our students with dedicated tutors and using teaching methods that best suit each individual student. The Barrie Literacy Council is committed to training volunteers for the position of tutor and provides on-going support.
Other volunteer positions are also available on our Board.
