In 1974, a group of parents determined to find cures for their children living with type 1 diabetes came together to begin what is now Breakthrough T1D, launching the largest funder and advocate for T1D research in Canada. Our focus was and remains on finding cures for type 1 diabetes (T1D); since then, the organization has helped to fund research that has led to innovation and evolution of treatments that improve the quality of life for people living with T1D.

Breast Cancer Canada is a leading national organization dedicated to the fight against breast cancer. Committed to both supporting those affected and funding pivotal research, we strive to foster awareness, provide education, and champion early detection. Through our efforts, we aim to reduce the impact of this disease and move closer to a future where breast cancer is more preventable, treatable, and beatable.

Bladder Cancer Canada is the first and only Canadian patient advocacy organization dedicated to bladder cancer issues. Bladder Cancer Canada (BCC) is committed to providing comprehensive support, raising awareness, and funding crucial research initiatives. As a national charitable non-profit organization, BCC plays a vital role in supporting patients and their loved ones by offering platforms for education, connection and shared experiences. Through our initiatives, we ensure that individuals facing a bladder cancer diagnosis have access to resources, information and support services. Our unwavering dedication to raising awareness fosters understanding within the community and aims to raise awareness of symptoms among the public and the medical community. We also actively contribute to advancing medical knowledge and treatment options by funding research projects. The Nanny Angel Network is a registered charity and the only organization of its kind in Canada. We have been providing free, specialized childcare support and programs to families living with cancer since 2009. Three main goals that drive everything we do: Provide specialized, Child Life-informed childcare support and programs for parents with cancer to give them the time they need to take care of themselves and reduce existing social support burn-out. Build resiliency in children by teaching life-long coping skills. Provide a sense of normalcy for children during a tumultuous time in their lives. Backed by 30 years of nanny agency experience, NAN has continued to successfully provide free resources for cancer patients and their families for over a decade. We support families at any point during the cancer journey. We’re there from the time of diagnosis, during treatment or through palliative care. We continue to support families who need help for up to a year during the bereavement period.

In the heart of Hamilton, live the poor and the marginalized. Many struggling with addiction and illness. Often homeless and helpless, with so many doors closed to them.  There is one Door that is open, that welcomes them and feeds them hope. That is the De Mazenod Door, an Outreach program that provides food for the hungry and drink for the thirsty, 365 days a year. Through loving compassion and faith in action, De Mazenod Door Outreach serves to improve and empower the lives of the poor and marginalized in Hamilton. By providing food, housing, education, social supports and life skills development, we foster dignity, personal growth and hope for a better future. We work to provide a safe, inclusive environment for our guests, staff, volunteers, community partners and supporters, instilling a sense of community and belonging, where all are welcome and valued, and no one is turned away. Embracing Our Community Guests coming to the De Mazenod Door are treated with dignity and respect.  It is our goal that every single visitor to our door walks away with a true sense of community and a hot meal. Living Our Faith Our ministry is solely supported through the generosity of people who want to make a difference in the lives of the poor and marginalized in our city. Donations are welcome!

CWC is in phase 2 becoming an accredited member agency of Independent Living Canada. An organization run by peole with disabilities for people with disabilities. Our current programs and services include: 1. FREE Income Tax Program all year round, a partnership with Canada Revenue Agency. We provide tax services going back 10 years to current. 2. The StopGap Barrie Community Ramp Project, providing deployable ramps to businesses and organizations who are not accessible to people in wheelchairs, walkers, strollers or delivery people. 3. Our Guided Water-Colour Art Classes will be resuming shortly. 4. Our Peer to Peer Support group will be resuming shortly. 5. Our Host Organization - Creating Connection,  offers an array of Community Programs and Services.

Parkinson Canada is the national voice of Canadians living with Parkinson's disease. From diagnosis to discovery, we guide the way for Canadians to live well with Parkinson's disease through education, advocacy, and support services. Our National Research Program funds innovative research to search for better treatments and a cure. A national registered charity, Parkinson Canada fulfils its mission through the generosity of donors and is an accredited organization under the Imagine Canada Standards Program.

Journey to Diversity Workplaces: Respecting Differences Ethically, Morally, and Legally Journey to Diversity Workplaces is a unique project with the aim of changing the workplace for the better forever. We believe that everyone deserves respect and fair treatment when it comes to work and payment, no matter who they are or what they look like. This is why we started this experiment so we can make sure that everyone is respected, diversity is celebrated and our differences are considered our strengths not our weaknesses! At J2DW there are no bosses and employees – we are all equals. We are a member of OnGood, Charity Village, CIRA, and the Ontario Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. We also partner with VolunteerMatch.

Unknown Neighbours provides support to Temporary Foreign Workers (TFW's) and their employers in Simcoe and Grey-Bruce Counties. We increase the number of TFWs access to emergency support and services including health care, protective measures, and equipment. We increase access to programs and services that build TFWs capacity to protect themselves and new community-based partnerships that contribute to greater awareness of health and safety precautions, as well as services and benefits available to TFW's during and post-pandemic.
